Classroom Information

Absences: Call the school office when your child will be absent from school.  

Snack:  We will have an afternoon snack each day in 1st grade.  Your child should bring their own individual healthy snack to eat every afternoon. Please provide a shoe box full of snacks that can be left here. Your child can pick one snack from his/her box. When the box gets close to empty, they will need to bring it home for a refill. If you would rather pack a snack every day, that works too. (Whatever works best for your family!)

Birthdays:  We love to celebrate birthdays in 1st grade! Your child may celebrate his/her birthday in our classroom but does not have to. If you would like to send a birthday treat, please make sure it is a store bought treat. We have 24 students in our class. We will celebrate summer birthdays during the month of May.

Notes from Home:  Please be sure to send a note or a message on Bloomz if your child's after school procedure has changed for the day.

Noon Play:  Children go outside for noon play every day unless it is raining or the wind chill is low.  Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather.

Library:  We will go to the library every Thursday. Two books may be checked out at each visit. If your child forgets his/her book on library day, he/she may bring it back the next day and check out new books before school.

Computers:  We will go to the computer lab once a week.  The students work on games and activities that reinforce what we work on in our classroom.
