International Ideas for Ears Contest awards two AES students as grand prize winners!

abigail and zoeyAES students, Abigail and Zoey Voigt, entered an international Ideas for Ears contest by Med EL. Their invention was a Smart Watch, specifically designed for hearing implant users. This intelligent timepiece allows users to set morning alarms, receive real-time battery updates for the audio processor, and enjoy the convenience of playing music directly through the device. While a contest such as this could be intimidating, they were brave enough to enter...

AND THEY WON!

There were more than 253 entries from 24 countries submitted to this year’s competition. Abigail and Zoey were the grand prize winners from the USA. Grand prize winners were awarded in 14 countries, including Australia, Argentina, Peru, India, Indonesia, Italy, Portugal, Poland and Greece, among others. They will be flown to Austria where the MED EL headquarters is located. There they will present their invention alongside the other grand prize winners.

Congratulations to Abigail and Zoey!
