Annandale Public Schools offers excellent Early Childhood programs for children ages Birth to kindergarten enrollment.

Our teachers strive to promote children’s love of learning and curiosity through an intentionally planned “hands on” learning environment, designed to foster the development of the whole child. Young children learn best through active involvement, in order to learn about themselves, other people and the world around them.

Our preschool classrooms encourage active exploration, investigation and play in a variety of learning centers, plus individual, small and large group activities. Children are guided to question, solve problems and express themselves. Teachers respect and understand the uniqueness of each child.

Early Childhood Screening

Preparations for kindergarten begin in the preschool years! Early Childhood Screening is required for children entering preschool and Kindergarten in a public school in Minnesota.

Early Childhood Screening

Annandale Public Schools offers free developmental screening to provide this service. We encourage all children to be screened at the age of 3 - 4 years of age.

Early Childhood Screening is a simple check of how children are doing during their preschool years - a time of rapid growth and development. While it's designed to identify possible health or learning concerns, this screening also offers an opportunity for parents to address concerns that they may have regarding a child's speech, hearing, vision and overall development. Check out this quick video for more information.

To schedule an appointment for early childhood screening, please contact Dana Pearson, our Early Childhood Screening Coordinator, at 320-274-3058 ext. 4191 or via email at danapearson@isd876.org. If you are unable to reach her, please leave a message and she will return your call as soon as she is able.
